Public Affairs Monthly Report
October 1995

On October 30, American Cablevision and WAV-53 totally combined their programming line-ups and began producing a live hour-long news/magazine format show at 6:30 PM each weeknight featuring the important issues and activities in the Indianapolis community.

American Cablevision produced 72.5 hours of original programming, including full coverage of the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra's performance at Shortridge and the Second Tuesday Luncheon Speaker at the Indianapolis Press Club. In conjunction with WAV-53, a live interview show from Artsgarden was produced immediately preceding the Circle City Classic Gala, as well as full coverage of the Circle City Classic Parade. The parade coverage was uplinked to satellite so that communities across the nation could see the parade. An itemization of all local origination programming is included in the following pages.

Produced and cablecast a promotional spot announcement for the Junior League's Holiday Mart. Funds from the Holiday Mart are used to support the League's numerous charitable community activities.

Provided financial support to sponsor a booth in conjunction with the State Parent Teachers Association at the Indiana School Principals' Annual Conference. The educational booth provided information about the National Cable Television Association's "Critical Viewing Skills" project in which American Cablevision is actively involved.

Conducted our Annual United Way campaign and raised over $11,000 in employee pledges for 1996.

Participated in the Red Ribbon Campaign for drug-free environments sponsored by the National Family Partnership. |
