Public Affairs Monthly Report

American Cablevision has received very positive feedback from customers who appreciate the cable system's carriage of local Pacer games.

American provided major sponsorship and promotion for the local chapter pf 100 Black Men's Indy 100 Roundball Invitational. This black college basketball tournament raises funds to assist at-risk youth with life-skill training.

Al Aldridge, American's Public Relations Manager, attended a coordination meeting with the National Library Association and Time Warner to plan American's sponsorship of the "It's Us" photo exhibit promoting diversity. The local exhibition will be held later this year in cooperation with the Indianapolis-Marion County Library.

We coordinated plans for a local "Critical Viewing Skills" workshop to be held in conjunction with the State Parent Teachers Association in February. The workshop trains parents and educators how to teach children of all ages to be critical viewers of television programs and helps address the concerns of violent programming on TV.

Numerous employees participated in the fourth quarter blood drive which helped provide needed blood supplies for the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center.

Employees raised over $500 and donated gifts to a needy family through the United Christmas Service. Money, food, and gifts were also provided to youngsters at the Pleasant Run Children's Home. |
