Community Awareness

Indy Parks Forestry is dedicated to the education of the community and creating an awareness of the importance of our urban forest.

Each year, seminars and workshops for the tree professional, the public, neighborhood groups and staff are conducted to develop and increase knowledge of the Community Forest.

Each April, the City celebrates Arbor Day by offering  tree plantings and speaking events that reach thousands of local youth and adults.

One such program is presented by nationally known tree advocate, Tim Womack.  "Trees, who needs 'em?" is an interactive, dynamic presentation that provides tree facts the fun way!

Our focus is to make our community aware of the importance of our urban forest and the value of trees, in general.  Contact us to find out more about how you can benefit from our community outreach programs.
