  •   Former Lt. Gov. John Mutz – Chairman. Chairman of the Lumina Foundation for Education.  For more than three decades, Mr. Mutz has been an Indiana leader committed to furthering the interests of the state and its residents.  Mr. Mutz is a two-term lieutenant governor for the state of Indiana, former president of Lilly Endowment, former chairman of the Indianapolis Department of Waterworks Board and former president of PSI Energy, Indiana's largest electric utility.  He also sits on the boards of five corporations in Central Indiana and on the Indiana Economic Development Corporation Board.  In addition to Mr. Mutz's terms as lieutenant governor, he also served as a state representative and state senator.

  •  Marv Bailey is President of the Corporation for Educational Technology (CET).  Mr. Bailey held this position from 1990-93 and 1999 through the present.  He also recently served as President of the Center for Interactive Learning & Collaboration.  Mr. Bailey work for Ameritech (now AT&T) for 30 years, where he became interested in education, serving as the Vice President of Education Initiatives when he retired in 1999.  Mr. Bailey has served on various local and national boards and councils working for technology and education.  Mr. Bailey holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Purdue University.  He has received awards for his service to education and community including, the Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana's highest honor, Junior Achievement's National Bronze Leadership Award and its Man of the Year title in 1989.

  •  Diana Daniels is the President of the National Council on Educating Black Children, Inc.  Ms. Daniels worked for Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) for 35 years, serving as a teacher of various grade levels and working in many administrative roles, including Supervisor of Instruction and Curriculum.  Ms. Daniels also taught graduate courses at Anderson University.  After retirement from IPS, Ms. Daniels served as the Midwest Regional Director for Ventures Education Systems Corporation, a school reform model implemented in 25 Midwest schools.  Ms. Daniels' work has received local and national recognition for contributing to the improvement of urban education, literacy, educational leadership and multi-cultural education.

  •  Lindan B. Hill, Ph.D. is the Dean of the School of Education at Marian College in Indianapolis.  Dr. Hill has served in this capacity since June 2006.  Prior to his work at Marian, he served for five years as Director of Teacher Education at Manchester College, North Manchester, Indiana.  Before Manchester College, Hill served in public school teaching and administration for 32 years from 1969-2001, with 25 of those years as Superintendent of Schools in two districts in Indiana.  Hill received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Indiana University-Bloomington in 1969, Master of Science at Purdue University in 1972 and the Doctor of Philosophy degree at Purdue in 1975.  He has served as adjunct faculty at Indiana University, Purdue University, Ball State University, Indiana Wesleyan University and Oakland City University.  In 1996, Hill was awarded the Distinguished Hoosier designation from then-Governor Evan Bayh, and in 2001, was recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award from the lat Governor Frank O'Bannon.

  • Marcie Brown, Director of Policy at the Indiana Department of Education, works with the new Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Tony Bennett.  She formerly worked as policy director for education in the office of Governor Mitch Daniels, working on issues like full day kindergarten, New Tech High and early college, and STEM education.  She helped develop the Governor's education agenda and oversaw special projects and initiatives related to education, such as the Governor's Mr./Miss Math and Science Awards.  Prior to working for the Governor, she worked for the U.S. Department of Education as the chief of staff in the Office of Innovation and Improvement, which administers the public school choice and free tutoring portions of No Child Left Behind.  She has also worked at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget in the General Counsel's office and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.  Ms. Brown earned her B.A. and J.D. from Indiana University in Bloomington.

  •   Dr. Jose Rosario, Ph.D., Professor of education, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. A lifelong educator and researcher, Dr. Rosario specialized in curriculum and instruction, urban education, school reform, and community engagement in education.  He has also served as director of the Indianapolis-based El Puente Project and as director of the Urban Teacher Education Program at Indiana University-Northwest.  He has held teaching and research positions at Northeastern Illinois University, the University of North Florida, the State University of New York at Geneseo, and the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.  He earned bachelor's master's, and doctorate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

  • Pat Wachtel, CEO of Girls Incorporated of Indianapolis.  Ms. Wachtel has served in this position for two-and-a-half years.  During her time with Girls Incorporated she has partnered with schools, community centers, churches, libraries and other organizations that help girls learn about healthy relationships, college and career issues, financial literacy, and explore their gifts and talents.  Prior to this position Ms. Wachtel served as Vice President for Community and Corporate Relations with Irwin Mortgage and Interim President of Historic Landmarks of Indiana.  Ms. Wachtel holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Butler University and a MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.
