The Steering Committee oversees the public involvement process and resolves conflicting recommendations among the other committees. Using input gathered from the public at the Town Hall meetings, the Steering Committee will set forth the community values that will shape the remainder of the plan. Another Steering Committee function is to review and "approve" the work produced by the Issue Committees. Finally, the Committee is responsible for recommending adoption of the Community Values Component to the Metropolitan Development Commission (MDC). The Steering Committee may assist the management partner with public outreach and participation and with spearheading implementation. Membership will be balanced philosophically, geographically and demographically. The Steering Committee is listed below:
* Douglas Trolson passed away on February 2, 2002. He was the citizen chairperson of our Transportation and Infrastructure Issue Committee. In that role, he was dedicated to fairness, clarity of thought, and a better future for Indianapolis and its neighborhoods.
