Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG)

 

The Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) program provides persons experiencing homeless with basic shelter and essential supportive services. Funding can be used to assist with shelter facility operational and maintenance costs and to remodel or rehabilitate a building used as a new shelter. Other ESG eligible activities include the provision of essential supportive services (i.e., case management, physical and mental health treatment, substance abuse counseling and childcare); short-term homeless prevention assistance for persons at imminent risk of losing their own housing as a result of eviction, foreclosure, or utility shutoffs, and grant administration.
